Last semester i attended the “music informatics” course of the university. As an assignment for the course i chose to take part in the “IDE Fantasy” performance of Proffesor Iannis Zannos. My task was to develope a sensor glove which would be worn by dancers, the data gathered of the gloves would be used to create a audiovisual performance in parallel with the dance performance. At the same time at other locations dancers would use the glove and connected over internet make a collective audiovisual piece.

Having previous experience with the raspberry pi platform the raspberry pi zero w model was chosen. The rpi zero w is perfect for the job with its connectivity.

The main raspberry pi works as a wifi repeater as to provide internet access to the performance and share the produced sensor data over vpn to all connected locations.

Here you can find a detailed documentation of what is used software and hardware wise to make the sensor glove.
